Cat and dalmatian puppy

About Us

Puppy SOS is founded by Cat Ridley. Cat studied animal behaviour at Oxford University and has worked with dogs of all shapes and sizes over the last 15 years, in both home and rescue settings. However, Cat has a special passion for supporting puppies and their owners, having been lucky enough to learn about puppy development, behaviour and training with internationally-known behaviourist Gwen Bailey’s Puppy School. Cat worked with hundreds of puppies and owners, before setting up her own business.

As a Student member of the Fellowship of Animal Behaviour Clinicians, Cat is on her journey to becoming a registered Clinical Behaviourist.

Constantly expanding knowledge is really important, so Cat is currently studying for an Advanced Diploma in Applied Animal Behaviour with Compass Education, and regularly attends learning sessions by leaders in the field of behaviour such as Dr Amber Batson, Michael Shikashio, Dr Caroline Warnes and the Battersea Academy.

Cat and the other Puppy SOS trainers are completely and passionately force-free in our training methods – we will never ask you to ‘correct’ your puppy with lead jerks, spray bottles or use equipment like prong collars and choke chains.

For the last 5 years, Cat has also worked for the UK sighthound rescue charity Forever Hounds Trust, and understands first hand the challenges of raising puppies! She shares her life with Dusty, a rescue lurcher who Cat raised from a puppy, and Amber, a Pomeranian-type rescue dog who is now a teenager!

Knowing how tough raising a puppy can be, she wanted to find a way to provide easy-to-access and affordable support for owners of puppies and teenage dogs, regardless of where they were in the world….and so Puppy SOS was born!

Our team of trainers have a minimum of degree-level knowledge, years of experience and ONLY use kind,  force-free methods. We regularly update our own knowledge, attending training by experts such as Amber Batson, Chirag Patel, Natalie Light and a range of other force-free professionals.

You and your puppy are in safe hands!
