Nipping and Biting

Puppies have incredibly sharp teeth – we call them ‘land sharks’! Almost all puppies will nip, but some puppies bite harder and more often than others. They may hang off your arms and legs, try to nip your face and hands, and refuse to play with toys instead.

Often this happens during especially excitable episodes (described by some as ‘zoomies’) when your puppy might seem to become uncontrollable, racing around, jumping and leaving you struggling to calm them down. All of these things are normal, but it’s really important that we work out why they are nipping and teach them how we would like them to behave instead.

If you are struggling to control your own over-excited land shark, let us come to your rescue!  Just click to book a session one of our puppy trainers, and get practical advice and help tailored to your puppy or teen dog.
